The unlimited within the determined
Lecture by PAUHOF
Monday, August 24th, 19.30
Our work is an experiment in three-dimensional logic that generates interconnected fields of tension. Clearly proportioned orthogonal volumes—enclosed and precisely defined spaces for public or private use—are superimposed upon functionally underdetermined yet architecturally precise voids, or ‘implied volumes.’ These spaces can be adapted to the constantly evolving conditions of urban life.
PAUHOF Michael Hofstätter and Wolfgang Pauzenberger founded PAUHOF in 1986. Their work encompasses a wide range of projects, including entries for national and international competitions, exhibition designs, installations, and a small number of exceptional built works. Pauhof’s rigorous and radical approach to architecture and urban intervention explores the boundaries of critical minimalism and basic abstraction, both of which are closely aligned with conceptual art.
